Take your child to the Emergency Department if they:

• Loses consciousness or has an indentation in his or her head.

• May have a broken bone from a fall or injury.

• Has a gaping wound or a cut that won’t stop bleeding after you have applied direct pressure.

• Has fever over 102.2°F and has a stiff neck with vomiting and crying or is so lethargic he or she is difficult to wake.

• Has a blue tongue, lips or nails, which means he or she is not getting enough oxygen.

• Is under three months old and has a fever greater than 100.4°F.

• Has difficulty breathing or difficulty catching his or her breath.
