At Cape Fear Valley Health, we’re glad to offer wound care treatment to outpatients to continue and promote healing. It’s where specialized care meets compassionate healing.

Our Approach to Wound Care

At the heart of our center is the specialized treatment we provide for chronic or nonhealing wounds that have often failed conventional treatments. These wounds typically result from inadequate circulation, poorly functioning veins, diabetic complications and immobility.

Our unique approach combines state-of-the-art treatments, including debridement, specialized dressings and hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). HBOT is a treatment used alongside wound care in certain situations. Patients breathe 100% oxygen in a pressurized chamber, enhancing the oxygen levels in the bloodstream to promote faster wound healing. This treatment is pending insurance authorization.

We design individualized care plans, tailoring treatments to each patient's unique needs. Furthermore, we prioritize education to empower patients and families to continue successful healing at home.

Collaboration is a cornerstone of our model. We maintain close ties with your primary doctor to ensure integrated, comprehensive care. Our team of specialists brings to the table their expertise and proven protocols that enable the best possible outcomes.

What sets us apart is our commitment to the community. We're the only center in the area that welcomes patients without insurance. Additionally, our dedicated limb salvage program aims to prevent amputations.

Why Choose Cape Fear Valley Health for Wound Care?

  • The centers offer a range of state-of-the-art treatments, from debridement and dressing selection to hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). This ensures patients have access to the best and most suitable treatments for their specific conditions.

  • Beyond physical healing, the center's licensed social worker supports patients with transportation, social needs and coordination with insurance for supplies. This holistic approach ensures patients' overall well-being is cared for, not just their wounds.

  • We are the only center in the area that accepts patients who choose to self-pay or do not have insurance. This opens up access to specialized care for a broader range of people, regardless of their financial or insurance status.

  • We focus on chronic or nonhealing wounds, an area other general healthcare facilities might not have as much experience with. This specialization ensures patients receive care from experts who deal with these types of wounds daily.

  • Cape Fear Valley Health’s Wound Care Centers work in tandem with the patient's primary doctor. This ensures a seamless integration of specialized wound care with the patient's overall healthcare plan.
