Pharmacists at Cape Fear Valley provide pharmacy care to a variety of patient populations, including general surgery, open heart surgery, oncology, psychiatry, intensive care, neonatal intensive care, pediatrics, obstetrics, gynecology and neurosurgery. But you do not need to be a hospital patient to have your prescriptions filled at a Cape Fear Valley pharmacy; our services are open to the public as well!

Most prescriptions are usually filled in 15 minutes or less. We accept all major prescription drug plans, including Medicaid and Medicare Part D.

All locations offer online refill ordering. Additionally, Center, Hoke and Health Pavilion North Pharmacies offer free home delivery of medications.

Center and Hoke pharmacies also offer free medication compliance packaging. When you order medication compliance packaging, pharmacy staff will conveniently organize your medications into easy-to-use blister packs. Not only does this service save you time sorting pills by the day or week, but it also helps eliminate medication errors, such as skipping a dose or doubling up on a medication accidentally.

Patient Resources

Special Order Medications

We can special order prescriptions and over-the-counter medications, often for next-day pickup. When medications are needed immediately but are not in stock, we can also help you find them at a pharmacy near you.

Safe Disposal of Expired Medications

All our pharmacies have MedSafe medication take-back boxes, which you can use to safely dispose of medications you no longer need.

Patient Financial Resources

We work closely with Case Management to provide resources if you have financial barriers to medication therapy. We can also search for manufacturer coupons or assistance programs if you need help to either reduce or eliminate co-pays.

Our Pharmacy Services

  • Cape Fear Valley Health pharmacies are staffed by pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, as well as support staff including cashiers. Our retail and specialty division pharmacists are graduates of accredited colleges of pharmacy, and most have graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree. All are licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of North Carolina and have extensive knowledge of the full range of medications.

  • Our pharmacists work closely with your specialists to manage your medication needs. We also partner closely with clinical pharmacists who practice in Cape Fear Valley Health specialty clinics to ensure continuity and access to medications, especially those with high costs. Our systems are integrated with Cape Fear's electronic medical record system so we can communicate directly with providers about your medication needs.

  • One-on-one consultations with our pharmacists to discuss medication usage, side effects, and proper administration while providing resources and guidance for managing chronic conditions and taking medications correctly. Empowering patients to become active participants in their own healthcare.

  • Located directly within our healthcare facilities for easy access with streamlined prescription pick-up and refill processes. The means reduced travel time and hassle for our patients.
