About Alejandro Chapa-Rodriguez, MD
From 1998-2005 Dr Chapa attended Medical School in one of Mexico's most prestigious private universities, as well as completed 3 post graduate diplomas and was a 2 time invited speaker for the Pan-Americal Bioethics Association. He was selected to finish medical school with a externship hosted by Methodist Hospital and UTSA in San Antonio in 2004-2005.
He completed his internal Medicine Internship and Hospitalist-Track Internal Medicine Residency at Seton Hall University in NJ in 2010 (now Reutgers). Post graduation he practiced as a hospitalist in northern Arizona for 9 years. Caring for patients in the cardiac surgical ICU, cardiac critical care, surgical ICU and medical ICU as well as medical floor. His responsibilities included being Co-Chief of the Department of Internal Medicine (one of the youngest ever), Director for the Department of Continued Medical Education, Department of Critical Care, Associate professor for Internal Medicine, Hospital Medicine and Critical Care for the Nurse Practitioner Program at Grand Canyon University and managing the most successful bloodless medicine program in Arizona. Due to his leadership and success, he was awarded the Fellowship of the American College of Physicians in 2017.
He relocated to Fayetteville NC in 2019 , and joining CFVMC pursuing new professional challenges. Where he has worked as a night-ICU hospitalist and has been most active in medical education for the Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine Residencies in areas of Internal Medicine, Hospital Medicine and Critical Care. He was the director Ultrasound Medical Education special emphasis in critical care ultrasound. roles which he had to relinquish July this year when he joined the Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship through Campbell University.
Dr Chapa Is married and has 2 kids. He enjoys his time off being a soccer dad.
