About the Simulation Center
The Cape Fear Valley Simulation Center stands at the forefront of healthcare education, embodying an innovative and high-tech hub for experiential learning. Designed to create a realistic clinical environment, the center allows healthcare professionals to actively engage in simulation, observation, and debriefing of authentic patient scenarios. This dynamic approach not only enhances clinical skills but also aims to improve patient safety and care outcomes, essential components in today’s healthcare landscape.
Equipped with four high-fidelity simulation rooms, the center provides a platform for immersive learning experiences that can be observed in real-time from an adjacent control room or evaluated through a web-based broadcast system, whether live or recorded. The design encourages collaboration and reflection, key elements in the learning process. Complementing the simulation rooms, the expansive clinical skills space accommodates a variety of training programs, fostering versatility in educational methods.
Additionally, the center features two multimedia classrooms designated for debriefing sessions and lectures, further enriching the educational experience. The recent introduction of a nursing simulation lab, which includes six 10x10 nursing bays, demonstrates the center's commitment to advancing nursing education.
