We take a team approach to foot and ankle care. Depending on your specific health needs, your care team could include:

  • Doctor of podiatric medicine
  • Foot and ankle surgeon
  • Resident specializing in podiatry
  • Nurse practitioner
  • Certified wound care nurse

But our care doesn't stop at our doors. We collaborate closely with various medical departments, such as Neurology, Endocrinology, Vascular, and Cardiology. This ensures a holistic treatment approach, addressing underlying issues that might impact foot health.

Medicare and Foot Care

Medicare coverage for foot care can get a little confusing.

Medicare covers medically necessary treatment for foot injuries or diseases (like hammer toe, bunion deformities, and heel spurs).

Medicare covers diabetic foot care under specific conditions:

  • Routine care for those with certain diabetes-related conditions
  • Foot exams every six months
  • Therapeutic shoes or inserts for severe diabetic foot disease

However, routine diabetic nail care is only covered with an additional qualifying condition.

If you have questions about what is and isn’t covered by Medicare or other insurance plans, just ask. We’re here to help.
