Patients throughout Cumberland County have seen outstanding results after liposuction at Cape Fear Valley Health.
What Is Liposuction?
Liposuction highlights your natural contours. It improves your figure with smoothing, reshaping techniques.
The body contains a set number of fat cells, which grow or shrink as you gain or lose weight. Liposuction removes fat cells from specific areas. Whether you gain or lose weight after the procedure, the treated areas will remain smooth and well-contoured.
Explore the three benefits of liposuction:
- Fast results: Dieting and exercise can take months to have any effect. Even with your best effort, you might not see significant change. However, liposuction provides nearly immediate results.
- Refine your figure: You’ll be able maintain your refined figure by exercising and continuing to stay at a healthy weight.
- Enjoy permanent effects: Genetics, aging, weight fluctuations, and pregnancy can substantially change your physique. For some, liposuction provides the only real and lasting solution.

What to Expect With Liposuction
Liposuction typically takes between 30 minutes to an hour. During the procedure, you’ll be under general anesthesia, so you won’t experience any pain. You’ll be able to return home the same day.
Liposuction is designed to permanently reshape your body be removing excess fat beneath the skin. Over time, your skin will gradually tighten and conform to your new, slimmer figure.
Your plastic surgeon will make a discreet incision to break up and suction away excess fat deposits. Once the fat is removed, the incision is closed, and the procedure is complete. While you’ll notice immediate results, your skin will continue to tighten over the next 6 to 12 months.
Liposuction Consultation
Your Cape Fear Valley Health plastic surgeon will discuss your treatment goals and carefully evaluate your body. They will then make a liposuction recommendation based on your desired results and develop your personalized treatment plan.

Liposuction is ideal for individuals with localized deposits of fat in areas such as the neck, arms, thighs or stomach. These fat deposits are often genetic and resistant to diet and exercise.
