FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – Cape Fear Valley Medical Center is the first hospital in North Carolina with a Honda Shogo car for sick children.

Bryan Honda Dealership in Fayetteville donated a Honda Shogo to the Fayetteville hospital. It’s a fun way to transport young patients through hospital hallways to and from procedures and appointments.

Kids ages 4-9 can drive the tiny electric car up to five miles per hour with mechanisms on the steering wheel. It doesn’t work unless the child is accompanied by an adult.

Honda designed Shogo to alleviate anxiety for children in the hospital. This is part of American Honda’s nationwide initiative called Project Courage.

“You want more smiles in the world. There is a lot of news out there that’s not very exciting, and not very happy. And this is something we can do to bring some joy back into the world,” Eason Bryan, president of Byran Honda said.
