Medical surgical units treat a diverse adult patient population and provide a broad range of services. These acute-care areas are some of the most challenging nursing fields because of the breadth of skills required. Medical units treat patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions and include telemetry monitoring.

Candidates
One year of nursing is preferred. New graduate nurses welcome. Additional training provided to address a broad range of illnesses and skills. BLS/ACLS are required as appropriate for unit (courses provided by CFVHS). Professional growth through academic advancement, specialty certification, and Clinical Ladder participation are encouraged.
