Dr. Frank Lodeserto, MD
Frank J Lodeserto MD joined Cape Fear Valley Medical Center as the Internal Medicine Residency Program Director in May 2022. He is one of only a handful of combined Adult & Pediatric Critical Care Trained Physicians practicing both specialties nationally. He did his combined Med-Peds training at East Carolina University/Brody School of Medicine (Greenville NC) before going onto to complete both his Adult & Pediatric Critical Care fellowships at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center & The Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. He is passionate about medical education and beyond his frequent didactic teaching at the bedside and in the classroom; he spends a significant portion of his time educating our residents with High Fidelity Simulation.
Dr. Chika Okafor, MD
Dr. Chika Okafor is the Associate Program Director for the Internal Residency Program. She joined Cape Fear Valley Health System in November of 2008 as fulltime hospitalist. She is also Assistant Professor of Medicine at Campbell University Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic of Medicine. Dr. Okafor earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Southern University at New Orleans, Louisiana. She graduated from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 2005 and completed her residency training at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.
