Overview
Interventional Radiology and Special Procedure nurses assists physicians and providers in procedures such as CT guided biopsy, uterine fibroid embolization, and radio-frequency ablation.
Nurses are responsible for many tasks including patient assessment and preparation, assisting with procedures such as setting up supplies, passing guide wires/catheters and handing over instruments, patient monitoring during and post procedure. Nurses specialize in procedural sedation.

Candidates
Two years experience required in intensive care or emergency department. BLS and/or ACLS are required as appropriate for unit (courses provided by CFVHS). Professional growth through academic advancement, specialty certification, and Clinical Ladder participation are encouraged.
