Managed Medicaid Updates

Cape Fear Valley recognizes the challenges that families face in choosing a Health Plan. As such, we wanted to share with you some key points about the Managed Medicaid Project.

  • Open Enrollment runs March 15-May 14
    • May 14th you will be auto enrolled into a plan if you have not already selected one, and there is no guarantee you will be enrolled in a plan that is in-network with Cape Fear Valley Health.
    • July 1, 2021 - Managed Medicaid goes "Live"
  • Cape Fear Valley Hospitals and Physicians are participating as "in-network" in the following Plans for Managed Medicaid.
    • Carolina Complete Health
    • Healthy Blue (BCBSNC)
    • UnitedHealthcare Community Plan
    • Wellcare Medicaid
  • Cape Fear Valley Health System Managed Medicaid Hotline - (910) 615-2222

Again, only those Medicaid patients under an "in-network" plan will be able to seek elective and non-emergency care at Cape Fear Valley Health facilities. We hope to be able to add more providers before the open enrollment window closes, but at this time, only the plans listed in the bullets above are "in-network" with Cape Fear Valley Health.

Please note that we have also become aware that some of the plans inaccurately list Cape Fear Valley Health as in-network, which is an error on their sites and directories. For this reason, we wanted to provide you with the most up-to-date information, so that as you enroll in a plan, you can make an informed choice based on your care provider.
