Support groups can provide an important source of emotional and psychological benefit for patients, former patients and their friends and families.

Alzheimer’s Caregivers
The
Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group is for those caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease which meets twice a month.
Medical Arts Center
Meets every third Tuesday from 2pm - 3pm

Arthritis
The
Arthritis Support Group meets on the fourth Monday of every month (except February, July and December) at 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Cape Fear Valley Rehabilitation Center, Library (located behind Cape Fear Valley Medical Center). For more information, please call Rachel Farnham at (860) 685-1948.
Better Breathers
The
Better Breathers Support Group meets on the second Thursday of every month at 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. in the Cardiopulmonary Rehab Classroom at Cape Fear Valley Rehabilitation Center, located behind Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. Defibrillator
The
Defibrillator Support Group meets quarterly: Jan. 17, April 18, July 18 and Oct. 17 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Cancer Center Conference Room. This is a support group for people who have an implantable cardiac defibrillator. For more information, call (910) 615-8753.
Heart
Mended Hearts of Fayetteville meets the second Thursday of each month from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in the Cape Fear Valley HealthPlex, Room C. Patients with heart disease and heart failure, as well as their families, are invited to attend. For more information, call (910) 615-6580.
Scleroderma
The
Scleroderma Support Group meets on the third Saturday of each month at 10:00 a.m. - noon in Room 106A of the Medical Arts Center at 101 Robeson Street. The group does not meet in December. Scleroderma patients and their loved ones are invited for support and information about the disease. Spinal Cord Injury
The
Spinal Cord Injury Support Group meets on the third Thursday of every month at 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at CFV Rehabilitation Center main gym. For more information, call (910) 615-6492 or (910) 615-6066.
Stroke
The
Stroke Support Group meets the third Wednesday of each month at 3 p.m. in the Center for Medical Education and Neuroscience Institute beside Cape Fear Valley Cancer Treatment & CyberKnife Center in Fayetteville.
